W+CO designed an interior fit-out of an existing building in North Philadelphia to provide transitional housing for adults being served by Northwestern Human Services (NHS). NHS housing and supportive service programs work with individuals facing behavioral and dependency challenges. Its housing programs offer varying levels of support for adults to transition from treatment facilities to being independent in a semi-structured, supportive environment. This group home in North Philadelphia was designed to provide residents with contemporary, accessible amenities in an environment that is cheerful and clean. This home has a fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms, cable TV, and air conditioning. Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible while still receiving treatment services as necessary. Outdoor space gives residents a place to socialize with each other and to foster the transition to becoming a part of the surrounding community.
