W+CO has completed 30 projects for the University of Pennsylvania, as well as projects for Temple University, Drexel University, the University of the Sciences, and Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. These projects encompass a wide variety of project types, as well as a special expertise gained through the design of 20 Science Lab and Learning Environment projects with their associated requirements for casework, ventilation systems and built-in equipment. Other higher education projects include Student Housing facilities, Office / Administrative spaces, Libraries, Lecture Halls and Auditoria, Classrooms, and support spaces. Many of W+CO’s projects at Penn were renovations to historically significant buildings that required sensitivity to the building’s historic integrity and aesthetics, while upgrading the facilities to be code compliant, functional and supportive of today’s contemporary learning environments and student lifestyles.
